Why has Blackwell decided to annex Burcot especially without any consultation. Also the erection of a over large and hideous sign. Not at all neighbourly.

Cllr. Keith Woolford

I'm more than happy to put this matter in context, albeit a little belatedly.

It may not be common knowledge that the previous sign on Greenhill was placed in the wrong position (half-way up the hill) which made for poor boundary identification and an all too risky site for cleaning and maintenance.

The PC are presently undertaking a review of all existing and possible additional signs where it may benefit visitors and residents. Typical of the continual assessment of parish needs, and a case in point, was the new 'Rainbow Way' finger signage on Greenhill right on the boundary back in July 2008.

This particular sign is part of that initiative and merely addresses, to some degree, a wholly inaccurate installation at this location some years ago and has now been completed in partnership with WCC.

Good relations with our nearby neighbours remains important to us on the Parish Council and I do hope this explanation allays any fears of any suspected encroachment.

Thanks for replying but I believe a face to face meeting is essential and would appreciate it if this could be organised especially if you have other plans
Regarding Rainbow way this is like a red rag to a bull as the land on both sides belong to residents of Burcot including myself we were not asked for any input or consulted.

The village hall believe relations have been soured by this highhanded attitude towards the change in boundaries and lack of consultations and we take avery serious view of the matter.
